All about education and employment in Greece and abroad

In today’s complex and demanding job market, correct education is the most valuable asset for succeeding in the workplace. Under the current difficult economic conditions, the 14th International Exhibition “Education and Career 2012”, taking place from the 2nd to the 4th of March at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, is of particular importance as it offers the opportunity to visitors to network and explore all the possibilities available for studying and working in Greece and abroad.

With over 200 exhibitors from 13 countries and 20,000 visitors of all ages, the exhibition, which runs under the aegis of Municipalities of Athens and Piraeus, is undoubtedly the premier exhibition on education in Greece and one of the leading educational exhibitions across Europe.

The main purpose of the exhibition is to provide in a direct and effective way a comprehensive overview of educational programmes currently offered in Greece and abroad, by public and private institutes, on undergraduate and postgraduate level and lifelong learning.

Exhibitors are numerous Universities from Greece and abroad, Technological Educational Institutes, Vocational Institutes, Embassies and Cultural Divisions, Publications, Professional Training Bodies, Suppliers of products and services for young people, Suppliers of infrastructure and services for educational institutes.

Represented countries (alphabetically): Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus with a delegation of 10 universities and colleges, Greece, Ireland, Italy, P.R. China with 30 university and China’s Scholarships Council, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands with 9 participants, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Stadiodromio-Job Festival is the parallel event co-organised with the NGO, Equal Society. With rich content and well-known speakers, Stadiodromio - Job Festival provides valuable information on key issues such as work in Greece and abroad, trends in the labour market now and in the future, Education and Career in crisis, Business Orientation, Continuing Education, Postgraduate studies and MBAs. In addition, visitors have the opportunity to meet companies looking to recruit staff and to participate in workshops dealing with issues such as Job Hunting, CV preparation, Interview skills, Youth and Social Entrepreneurship, Career Management, Networking, Qualifications and Training.

On Saturday 3 March from 11.00 to 18.00, the European Commission will present a comprehensive workshop of the Youth@Work campain for young professionals considering working in SMEs.

The entrance to the exhibition and all parallel events is free for holders of OAED card (un-employed) and 3 Euro for other visitors.
