DESCRIPTION

Aegean College offers, exclusively in Greece, a 4-year advanced academic programme which leads to a BSc (Hons) Midwifery (Applied) degree. This academic programme, operating under the supervision of the Midwives Association of Athens (SEMMA), is designed to cover both the scientific and applied knowledge and skills required by the Midwifery profession and provides students with all required knowledge at a theoretical and practical level while supporting their academic and professional careers, and their evolution in the profession of midwife. Students on this programme will be required to complete 2,800 hours of theory-based modules and 2,000 hours of practice with laboratories and within clinical practice settings.

Students have clinical training throughout their studies in order to complete the necessary number of deliveries and other obstetric operations which are necessary to obtain a degree, under legislation. The clinical practice is guided and evaluated by colleague-members of SEMMA and takes place in obstetrics, gynecology and neonatologists classes in public and private hospitals, such as: IASO, ALEXANDRA, EFTOKIA, MATERNITY GAIA SOCIAL OBSTETRICS-GYNECOLOGY CLINIC OF GREEK UNION IERAPOSTOLIKIS etc. Graduates acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to work as professionals in Midwifery Science. They offer services in various workplaces in the private and public sector in Maternity Clinics, Hospitals, Clinics etc., as well as freelance professionals with recognized professional rights.

The Aegean College facilities ensure normal and smooth operation of the educational process.
