DESCRIPTION

Fashion Designers are in a continuous search for ideas and recreation. Their intention is to draw ideas from art and create trends in fashion, through inspired design, the acquirement of a special identity, and marketing. Graduates of the Fashion Design programme are distinguished for their creativity and high level of aesthetics, their knowledge of the media – methods and procedures for design, in a way that the human form is highlighted and the technical elements of design application are promoted. They are familiar with research and the monitoring of international fashion trends, can analyse the current market conditions and plan ways to promote their creations.

Year 3 (Final year of the Bachelor Degree)
Your basic tools now are the experience acquired on research, making use of your creative abilities and the multiple techniques and theoretical knowledge gained, through the modules studied. The final year of your studies is designed in such a way, so as to appropriately prepare you as professionals. During the final year you will prepare for the design of your first complete and personal collection, selecting your own topic and concept, which will be the basis for your Main Project. Seminars on specialized topics will offer you a mature understanding of the operations of the market as well as advanced cutting techniques. You need to work in three consecutive steps, through which you will acquire specialized knowledge and experience, of a professional level. Initially you will undertake to complete a written Dissertation (6000 words) which will explain your concept and will mention your sources of research, the methodology of design and your findings. At the same time you will submit your design proposals, in a portfolio consisting drafts and sketches as well as a brief written analysis of the design procedure you propose. The year is completed with your Main Project, where you analyse your concept, your research and the stages for the materialization of your first personal collection.
