DESCRIPTION

The central axis of the Fine Art & New Media programme of studies is subjects such as painting, engraving, sculpture, history and theory of Art, while at the same time emphasis is placed on painting application workshops as well as other fields, such as illustration, iconography, mosaics and installations. Special attention is paid to contemporary technology applications, with the use of computers, used in artistic creation and its applications: digital manipulation of image, video art, photography.

Year 3 (Final year of the Bachelor Degree)
You are required to complete a Dissertation project of 6.000 – 7.000 words, on a topic from History of Art and generally Art theory. In this study the findings of your research, outcomes and substantiated views should be recorded. The presentation to your tutors and class should include the use of appropriate theoretical materials. You will be assessed on the clarity of your presentation, the depth of your research, the strength of your arguments and the degree of erudition. Along with your Dissertation Project, a series of creative workshops will prepare you for your Main Project. In the final semester, you are expected to complete a complex project (Main Project) from the various applications of painting and artistic creation in general. Your Main Project is a complete unit of works which will prove that you are now a complete artist with high aesthetics, theoretical and technical knowledge and an established personal style. The Main project is presented to a tutor committee in the presence of an audience and you will be assessed on the quality of its execution and your professionalism on undertaking research and presentation.
